New: if you click the Review button of any painting which has an *asterisk next to its title you'll find pieces of writing which I've done which relate in some shape or form, in an organic way to a particular painting. The writing isn't in any way a literal translation of the art work - each piece of writing is simply something which reminds me of the painting, or the spirit of the painting in some way. It's an ongoing project.

I'd like to welcome you warmly to SarahMorshead.com and to thank you for taking the time to look at my work. I'm a visual artist who grew up on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon, and later moved to London. Since finishing my Fine Art Degree in Painting in 1993 at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle upon Tyne, I've maintained my practise, specializing in abstract painting. I've spent a number of years living and working in various parts of Europe including France, Italy, Portugal and The Netherlands (all of which have fed into my art work) and I've been based in Ireland for the past 8 and a half years. Please note that some of the paintings shown on the website can only be viewed fully by clicking on the 'zoom' or 'review' buttons. If you have any questions at all about my paintings, drawings, prints and collages please don't hesitate to get in touch and I will be happy to reply to any questions concerning my work. Studio visits for first hand viewings can be arranged by writing to me via the 'contact' page, or by emailing directly to smorshead@hotmail.com. I also accept commissions on an ongoing basis.
